Edited documentation of performance, Mexico (Looped Single channel Video projection)
This dreamlike sequence of images captures the precarious process of carrying a drop of fresh drinking water in a teaspoon to the Pacific Ocean in Mexico every day for 7 days in May 2024.
At times it seems as if the small spoon is poised to receive the ocean’s water as the waves roll directly toward it. At others, when the camera focus shifts to the contents of the spoon, the small drop of water is rendered precious and shown as being somehow worth protecting against the masses of sea water and its rolling waves. The small, provocative gesture seems to capture the tension inherent in the hesitant offering. After all, what possible difference can one drop of fresh water make in this world?
